DAY 2: INTIMATE FASTING & FITNESS

FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR CREATOR

Today we will discover how to take a more active role in developing our relationship with the Son, the Holy Spirit, and our heavenly Father. We discussed spending time with God and learning what our Father desires yesterday. Every day, we have the opportunity to fall more in love with our Creator every day. This objective may seem unreachable, yet it's closer than we think. How much love the Father has for us is something we will never truly understand. You must ask yourself who else can give you life and be the ultimate lover of your life, care for you, and give you the world because He literally owns everything. He exceeds all of our expectations. So today we go deeper in connecting with the true love of our lives.

I want to expand on one of the scriptures that I provided to you to reflect on. It is discussed in 1 Corinthians 13:4–8a what love is. Everything in this verse describes God's love for us.  He is patient with us and slow to get angry. According to Nahum 1:3a of the Bible, The Lord is slow to anger and great in power. We must first be patient with others before we can talk about falling in love with them, just as God is loving and patient with us. God is patient in all of His sovereignty, so how much more should we be? When we don't love Him the way we ought to, our Father doesn't become hasty, pushy, rude, or easily enraged. To fall in love and learn how to be intimate with our Father by utilizing our physical bodies to stay healthy, using our hearts and thoughts to continually keep Him on our minds—that is what intimate fasting and fitness breakthrough is all about.

Spending time with new people in your life allows you to become close with them. We completely hate when we are talking with someone and they are distracted by their phone, television, music, or even just their own thoughts, yet we do the same to our Father, paying him only a portion of our full attention while failing to recognize that He is giving you the entire world—people you love and who love you, work, money, success, relationships, and children—instead of giving Him our full attention. You can be telling yourself that you have been lacking in some of those areas or that those relationships or things aren't going too well. If so, your love for God requires you to concentrate even more on falling in love with Him so that you can experience the same kind of love that God desires from you. He has not destroyed the earth because He knows that children like you who belong to Him exist so that He can keep pouring into you and you keep pouring into Him. He wishes it as well, which is why we are still here.

Challenge Yourself

I challenge you to find a quiet place, be still before your Creator, and take in the beauty around you. Accept His love because He loves you and cares for you. He also wants the best for you, but you won't realize this unless you spend time with Him alone. So schedule a date with your Creator, dress to the nines, smell divine, and see how He responds to you.

3 Scriptures To Mediate On And Questions To Ask Yourself

1 Corinthians 6: 19

Mark 9: 25-29

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a

Since our goal is to become closer to God through fasting and exercise, let's think about these verses once again to keep our gaze set on the Lord. We want to be able to hear from the Lord and seek Him in all the ways that He is calling our hearts to do so, therefore we don't want to rush our time with the Lord.

Scripture #1: Who does your body belong to?

1 Corinthian 6:19 (NKJV)

Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit whois in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Scripture #2: What do you need God to deliver you from or help you to overcome?

Mark 9:25-29 (NKJV)

When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it: “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” Then the spirit cried out, convulsed him greatly, and came out of him. And he became as one dead, so that many said, “He is dead.” But Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up, and he arose.

And when He had come into the house, His disciples asked Him privately, “Why could we not cast it out?” So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Scripture #3: How are you loving God and others?

1 Corinthians 13:4-8a (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

Closing Prayer:(Let's Mediate On Yesturday's Prayer)

Dear Heavenly Father

I pray that we start each day focusing on you and placing you at the center of our thoughts. I pray that You keep us, protect us, and take care of us exactly as You do. Open our minds and hearts to all the significant and deep things that are meaningful to you. Please remove anything and everything from my heart, mind, life, and body that does not align with what you are calling me to do during this time of fasting and praying. Give me clear directions on how to move forward on this life's journey that you have given me. Help me daily to recognize my sin and be merciful and forgiving toward everything that offends and displeases you. Please surround me with the right people to help me to be the person I need to be for you and others. My life is not my own, and I pray that every day I will have the opportunity to glorify and exalt you through it. I hope that my Intimate Fasting and Fitness Challenge will bring us closer together and deepen our love. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
