DATE NIGHT FOR TWO - TABLE FOR ONE
Remember when we initially began this path of developing our closeness with God, and I urged you to do something special with your Father, such as go on a date night and dress very well for your Creator. In order to fully set the stage for your increased intimacy with your King, I want to dive into this topic in more detail. See, when we consider romance, we have this entire notion that the outside world has bestowed upon us. The way relationships should be and how they should function has been projected by the outside world, yet romance in the Kingdom is totally different.
When we let God into our lives, we need to modify our ideas about romance. I know you're probably thinking, "I'm supposed to date God," and you could be laughing at this point, but please hear me out. How much time do you have to devote to having fun by yourself but actually don't get the chance to do so? How much time do you get to spend alone? However, when you make it about you and your Lord, incomparable time and space open up because you are choosing God, and He is ecstatic with delight at this.
Have you ever thought about the fact that you are married and your husband is the absolute ruler of the world. Have you ever thought about the fact that He shields you from dangers that you had no idea were coming your way? Have you ever thought about the fact that when you run out of food, can't figure out how to pay a bill, or don't know where to live, and then all of a sudden supernatural things start to work out, out of nowhere, that is not by chance; that is because your Father in Heaven is looking down at His daughter, at His bride, and is making ways out of no way. We seek to others for assistance, but if we turn to God, He will also make the right individuals available. He has your support, so why not be the baddest lady ever for God instead of the world? He has the ideal partner and marriage for you, and if you are already married, He wants to spice things up because you are spicing things up with you and Him. So when you get dressed, get dressed for God. And when you want to look sexy, look sexy for God.
The enemy, as we have already mentioned, wants you to believe that God, your Father, is not enough when He is more than enough. Yesterday, we talked about how we sacrifice our relationships because we are unsure of what being near to God entails. We haven't figured out how to allow God to fill the void that exists, so we turn to the world to replace it. I recently confessed to someone my love for God and how much I enjoy praising Him wherever I go. I believe I do this because I am confident that He will always be there, regardless of who else shows up or doesn't. God desires you and is after you, and He desires to grow you and to make you better. He wants to invest in you and make you better for your work, your business, your relationships with your spouse, your kids, and other people in your life.
Spiritual Awareness
You are shaped into the creation that He has called you to be by His hands, who also define you. You should go on a date with the King at least once a week because you are not alone, you don't have to make compromises, you are deserving of love, you do have it going on, and you are exceptional and incredible. If you are a single parent, put the child or children to bed early so you can make room for God to meet you there. I'll provide some original ideas for creating a space for you and your king in my forthcoming blogs. If you're married, here's something to consider: You can have a separate date night with the Lord. If your husband is also spiritual, you can do it together, or he can do it in a different location. This is fantastic because it gives you both the chance to experience a personal meeting with the Lord. We must make these moments memorable because we want to be able to share them with God and Jesus in heaven. Create the moments today, and the fragrance will remain for eternity.
3 Scriptures To Mediate On And Questions To Ask Yourself (reflection from yesterday)
I heard something today that said, "There is an enemy who delights in your darkness." When I first heard this, I immediately thought of Intimate Fasting & Fitness With God. I thought, wow, I've been giving these devotionals to my sisters for the past week and a halfĀ because I want them to not be in the dark and to have an intimate relationship with their King. You must battle for your relationship every day, not just for yourself, but for everyone in your family, because the enemy does not care.Ā Even if you are drained pray to the Lord, your Father, to fill you with His strength, love, and Holy Spirit. I know it sounds strange to ask for strength while you're tired, but remember how I gave you 1Ā Peter 5:8 last week? Don't be hisĀ prey, for the lion will attack anyone who is tired and worn out.
Song of Songs 2:8-10
Psalms 113:4-9
Psalms 118 21:25
Scripture #1: How do you see God in your relationship?
Song of Songs 2:8-10 (MSG)
Look! Listen! There's my lover! Do you see him coming? Vaulting the mountains, leaping the hills. My lover is like a gazelle, graceful; like a young stag, virile. Look at him there, on tiptoe at the gate, all ears, all eyes-ready! My lover has arrived and he's speaking to me!
Scripture #2: Where is your Father picking you up from?
Psalms 113: 4-9 (MSG)
God is higher than anything and anyone, outshining everything you can see in the skies. Who can compare with God, our God, so majestically enthroned, Surveying His magnificent heavens and earth? He picks up the poor from out of the dirt, rescues the forgotten who've been thrown out with the trash, Seats them among the honored guest, a place of honor among the brightest and best. He gives childless couples a family, gives them joy as the parents of children. Hallelujah!
Scripture #3: Are you celebrating and being festive about your Salvation?
Psalms 118:21-25 (MSG)
Thank you for responding to me; you've truly become my salvation! The stone the masons discarded as flawed is now the capstone! This is God's work. We rub our eyes-we can hardly, believe it! This is the very day God acted- let's celebrate and be festive! Salvation now, God. Salvation now! Oh yes, God-a free and full life!
Closing Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father
I appreciate your unwavering affection and desire to think of me at all times, Daddy. Thank you for providing forĀ me today. Whether or not my goals for the day were met, I am grateful because I know that you are still in charge of my life. You never abandon me and you never treat me like I'm not special; your love is incredible and unconditional. I can feel your arms encircling me, holding me in place while keeping me near to you. Allow me to accompany you on your journey and act as your representative in the world to demonstrate the existence and reality of You. I adore you a lot. Keep my thoughts on you, and I'm grateful for your kindness, love, and grace. I want you to give me everything you have for meĀ because I trust you. Your affection and your Holy Spirit.
In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
